Note that exercise 2b on sheet 4 is intended to be a bit more challenging than the other exercises. You need not be alarmed if you do not manage to solve it.
Exercise sheet 5 has been replaced by an updated version, which contains some hints on how to implement the Wolfe line search that is required for the BFGS method (the exercises are unchanged).
There have been some errors on exercise sheet 8 (problems 8 and 11), which have been corrected in version 2.
