Re-take Exam 2014

The re-take exam for the course will also be a written exam, which will take place some time in the two weeks before the start of the autumn term.

Exam 2014

The first exam for the course can be found here and proposed solutions here. Note that in some problems there might be more than one (correct and reasonable) approach to the solution. In particular this is true for Problem 5 (quadrature formula), where it is also possible to calculate the coefficients directly using the Lagrange cardinal polynomials (see the formula for Ai on Cheney & Kincaid, p. 239).

Old Exams in Numerical Methods

Note: The curriculum differs slightly from year to year. Certain problems may no longer be relevant.

Some of my Former Exams

In the following, you find a number of numerics exams of the previous years, in which I have been involved. Unfortunately, all of them are in German, but I do hope that it is possible to understand the questions nevertheless. Note that the curriculum may be slightly different from that one in Trondheim. Also, the duration of the exams was always either 90 or 120 minutes and therefore considerably shorter than your exam in June, and in some of the exams no calculators were allowed.
