Symposium on Oceanographic Data Analytics
27-30 Nov, 2018. Trondheim, Norway.
The worlds oceans are vastly under-sampled in our ability to understand the inter-relationships between the biological, physical and climatological changes taking place rapidly. The poor state of sampling is in part due to lack of modern tools and methods (including robotic platforms and satellite remote sensing) being applied in a focused and cohesive manner at spatio-temporal scales across what are tightly correlated micro and macro processes in the upper water-column.
There is a pressing need for designing, implementing and testing algorithms for efficient sampling of the upper water-column, and to have the broader impact of commingling methods in statistics, oceanography and automated control including Artificial Intelligence (AI) for adaptive sampling.
