Final Examination

The date of examination is Friday, the 4th of June, 2021. For information on examination regulations and procedures, see here. Dear TMA4165,

This is a message to students intending to sit the re-take examination.

As you all know, it has been announced that this is an oral examination. Since no application was made by me to turn this into an oral examination, and the university administration was largely away over the summer, some time was needed to ascertain that this has indeed been registered as an oral examination, and to make other due preparations. I am writing to ask that candidates who signed up for the oral exam make the following preparations:

(1) The date of the examination is set for the 9th of August. It is not possible to hold all the exams on this day — I intend to hold them all on the 9th and the 10th (Monday and Tuesday) if possible. If one of these days absolutely do not work for you, or some part of either of these days do not work (for medical appointments, other examinations, etc.), please write to inform me before noon on Friday the 30th. The examination schedule will be published one or two days after.

(2) You will be sent a Zoom link via your NTNU email for this examination, and the examination will be held virtually/digitally. It is important that you have ready a camera, pens, and a writing pad, or some like equipment, so that you can present some written deductions or calculations.

(3) If you want to test your equipment in advance, I am available in five-minute slots to do this. Please write to make an appointment before the 7th of August.

A guide to digital oral exams can be found here: https://innsida.ntnu.no/wiki/-/wiki/English/Digital+oral+exam+-+for+students.

The examination, like the written examination in June, will be in English. The scope of the examination remains unchanged. Each exam will be overseen by two examiners, for a duration of circa 35 minutes.
