More HU Faculty Qualifications

In August 2009, two new bachelor students from HU have joined the Dept. of Mathematical Sciences' international master programme. Moreover, the MASTMO project has been granted a PhD student from NTNU's quota programme. The PhD project is planned to focus on applied mathematics and numerical modelling, with applications to Awassa Lake hydrology.

HU Faculty Qualifications August 2008

In August 2008 the first group of HU faculty members arrived at NTNU for 1 year research training:

  • Tadele Tesfa Tegegne (Numerical Analysis)
  • Mohammed Yiha Dawed (Applied Mathematics)

Both Mohammed and Tadele are now back in Awassa and central resource persons for MASTMO.

  • Endale Berhane Altaye (Statistics)

Both finished their MSc master in the summer 2010.

2nd MASTMO Project Meeting

The second MASTMO project meeting was held in Awassa October 20 - 24, 2008. Anne Kværnø and Henning Omre travelled to Awassa to meet with Ayele Taye.
