Minutes from the first meeting in the reference group
  • Date: January 28

The exercise sessions work well. The stud.ass. are well prepared for the sessions. The lectures are ok. The tempo is good, it is good with lots of examples and with example of old exam problems. It works well with 2 projectors and the blackboard.

Feedback via email February 25

Some students think it sometimes go to fast when I present the powerpoint slides. There are also some students who would prefer that we use more time on theory rather than examples.

Minutes from the second meeting in the reference group
  • Date: March 15
  • Present: Vilde, Skule, Toke

It goes well with the exercise sessions and the tests, but it seems that there big differences between how much the student assistants require in order to approve a test. I have already discussed this with the teaching assistant, and I will ask him if something has be done about this.

It was suggested that I try to make the lectures a bit more focused by choosing the material I find most important. I will try to do that.

It was also suggested that I repeat new definitions and notions. I will also try to do that.

It was also suggested that I use fewer slides and write more on the blackboard instead. I will also try to do that.

It was also suggested that when I use an exam problem as an example, then I give you a few minutes to try to solve the problem yourself before I tell you how to do it. I will also try to do that.

I ask if it would be a good idea if I use Kahoot during the lectures as a way of testing if you understand the many new concepts which are introduced during the lectures. It was agreed that it would be a good idea.
