2023.04.23: Communication since last message has mostly been on email with the individual groups around the feedback on the data analysis report and organization of the article presentation. A second meeting with the reference group was in March with minutes posted on Blackboard. Last lecture is Monday April 24.

2023.03.13: Updated "Take home messages" under "Reading list". Reading list is up to date. Plan for Part 4 up to date, sent out link to zoom for 20 and 24.03. All lecture notes from L1-L17 should now be up to date.

2023.02.23: Updated advice on giving feedback on data analysis report. Start on Part 3 - with wisdom of crowds, ESL 8.7 bagging, 9.2 trees (only by exerciese) and 15 random forest, on Friday February 24.

2023.02.19: Last lecture in Part 2 (Monday 20.02) is on multisplit and polyheder (see W6.html file). If you want to prepare look at the two articles by Dezure et al and Taylor and Tibshirani listed under the Reading list. Email sent to participants with deadlines for the data analysis project. Under Lecture plan dates for part 3 and 4 are updated.

2023.02.05: All set for L9 and lasso variants. Will spend time in class to discuss deadlines for the Data analysis project, groups, and resources and content! Email send to students with links on Friday 2023.02.03.

2023.01.29: All set for L7 and ridge regression. Minutes from first meeting with reference group will be presented in class.

2023.01.26: All set for L6 - also pdf to write on in class if you want to try that (see hand-outs L6beamer20230127.pdf).

2023.01.19: Reading list for Part 1, including week 3 on missing data, updated.

2023.01.16: First meeting with reference group will be Friday Januar 27 right after class (12ish).

2023.01.13: Can you be a reference group member? Maybe one MTFYMA-IM, one Phd-statistics and one Phd-other-departments-than-IMF? I will ask in class 16.01. Completed: see front page for names of members.

Homework for 16.01: work through the Exercises in the bottom of L2.html. If time also browse through W2.html. Office hours set for Mondays and Fridays at 9-10 in Mettes office 1236, Sentralbygg 2. Just stop by or send email if you want to meet at other times. In our office hours I will try to answer any questions on the curriculum, the lectures and the exercises.
