Uncertainty in Reservoir Evaluation (URE)

URE history

  • Initiation: 1994.
  • Vision:
    • Provide creative mathematically based solutions to recognized challenges in reservoir evaluation.
    • Develop methodologies for analysis of spatial and spatio-temporal phenomena.
  • Status: The URE-initiative is worldwide unique as a theoretical probabilitic/statistical research group focusing on hydrocarbon reservoir modelling.
  • Cooperation between:
  • Funding:
  • Deliveries:
    • PhD candidates: approx 25.
    • Msc candidates with mathematical background: ≥ 35.
    • Scientific journal publications: ≥ 70.
    • Invited conference presentations: ≥ 30.
    • Conference/workshop committees: ≥ 25.
  • Recent recognitions - IMF/NTNU:
    • 2012: The Research Council of Norway/Evaluation of Research in Matematical Sciences in Norway: Group for computational and spatial statistics, IMF/NTNU - housing the URE activity - characterized as "world class"/classification: Grade 5 - Excellent.
