I have done the exercises in TMA4300 in a previous semester. Do I need to re-do the exercises this semester?

If you have done the exercises in TMA4300 in a previous semester and have been admitted to the exam that semester you will be admitted to the exam also this semester even if you don't the exercises the current semester. HOWEVER, only exercises that are done the current semester will count to the final grade. If you did the exercises in a previous semester the points will NOT be transferred, so you will only achieve a maximum of 70% if you don't re-do the exercises this semester.


How is it decided with whom I should make a group when doing the exercises?

The best is if you can find a companion yourself. If you are not able to find a second person yourself, send an email to the teaching assistant and he will help you to find a companion.


Should we include our R code in the solutions to the exercises?

Yes, and your code should contain comments to make it easier to read.


How do we present the results we obtained in the exercises?

Typically you visualise your results in various types of plots. Choose plots that are the most informative for you results, and always remember to discuss what the reader can learn from your plots.


Do we need to discuss the results in the exercises?

Yes, discussion of your results is in fact a very very important part of your solution!
