Exercises

There is one exercise for each of the three parts of the course. You should note the following:

• The exercises should be done using the statistical package R, see here.
• The exercises should be done in groups of two persons.
• The solution of the exercises can be given in English or Norwegian.
• The solutions should be sent by email (as one pdf file) to the teaching assistant. For email address see Contact.
• It is obligatory to do the exercises. To be admitted to the exam all three exercises must be found acceptable. This means a reasonable attempt must be made to solve ALL problems.
• The exercises count for 30% of the final grade in the course. Only projects that are done this semester will count to the final mark.
• The exercise classes will take place in the computer lab of the Department of Mathematical Sciences during the assigned lecture hours. The teaching assistant and/or the lecturer will then be there to answer any questions you may have. If you have questions outside the project classes please contact preferably the teaching assistant.
