Curriculum

The curriculum is what is covered in the lectures and by the exercises and projects. The curriculum is based on sections in the following two books, which both are available as e-books from the NTNU library when you are in the NTNU network:

The following is a provisional list covering the curriculum of the course.

Curriculum in Aalen, Borgan and Gjessing (2008):

  • Chapter 1: All except 1.3, 1.5.3 and 1.5.4.
  • Chapter 2: All except 2.2.7 and 2.2.8. In Section 2.3.3 only condition (2.57) for \(k=1,\) with the sufficient regularity conditions (2.60) and (2.61). Only the main contents of Sections 2.1.4 and 2.2.3.
  • Chapter 3: All except 3.1.4, 3.2.5, 3.3.5, 3.4.4 and 3.4.5. Only the main contents of Section 3.4.3.
  • Chapter 4: Introduction to the chapter. Introduction to Section 4.1. Section 4.1.1 except Examples 4.2 and 4.3. Section 4.1.2. Section 4.1.3 until line 7 in page 144. Section 4.1.4. Section 4.1.5 (only Cox regression and univariate case). Introduction to Section 4.2. Section 4.2.1 except the material on smoothing from line \(-13\) in page 159 to line 15 in page 160. Section 4.2.3 until line 14 in page 165.
  • Chapter 5: All except Section 5.3.
  • Chapter 6: All until the middle of page 238.
  • Chapter 7: Introduction to the chapter. Introduction to Section 7.2. Sections 7.2.2, 7.2.3, 7.2.4 and 7.3.
  • Chapter 8: Pages 302 and 303 in Section 8.1. Pages 313 and 314 in Section 8.3.1.
  • Appendix B.
