19.11 Exercise 6 has been posted.
19.11 The final reference group meeting was held today. The minutes of the meeting (written by the reference group) can be found here.
11.11 Program for next week: In the Monday lecture (18.11), I will summarize the curriculum. In the Wednesday lecture (20.11), I will go through some of the old exam problems, and you may also ask questions.
01.11 The next two exercise sessions (06.11 and 13.11) will take place in Nullrommet. I have decided to expand them a bit, so I will be available there at 14.15–16.00 these two days.
29.10 The final ordinary lecture was on Monday 28.10. Exercise sessions will continue as usual. There will also be one or two exam preparation lectures at the end of the semester. More information on this will appear later.
28.10 I made a mistake in lecture today. In the Wilkinson shift, <jsm>\delta</jsm> was not the average of <jsm>a_{m-1}</jsm> and <jsm>a_m</jsm>, but <jsm>\delta = (a_{m-1} - a_m) / 2</jsm>.
25.10 The second part of the semester project is now online. Keep the same groups as you had for the first part.
21.10 The exercise session on 30.10 has been cancelled. If you need help, remember that you may come to my office during office hours.
21.10 It was decided by vote in class today that the second part of the semester project will be given one week earlier than previously stated. This means that the project will appear by Friday this week, and you will get three weeks to work on it from then.
18.10 The last lecture will probably be on 28.10. This means that you will have a lot of time to work on the second part of the semester project, which will probably be posted in week 43 (changed from 44 on 21.10). You will get about three weeks to work on this. The exercise sessions will continue as normal until you have delivered part two of the semester project.
18.10 Those that are taking the course as a specialization course will take their oral exam (which counts for 100 %) on 06.12, 09:00, with examination code D. See here. The room will be posted later.
15.10 Exercise 5 and Solution 4 have been posted.
10.10 The first three chapters of W. L. Briggs, V. E. Henson, S. F. McCormick: A multigrid tutorial, are recommended. They explain multigrid very well.
07.10 The second reference group meeting was held on 04.10. The minutes of the meeting (written by the reference group) can be found here.
01.10 Exercise 4 and Solution 3 have been posted.
25.09 If the candidate numbers are not available by the due date of part 1 of the semester project, you may use your student numbers instead.
12.09 Exercise 3 and Solution 2 have been posted.
09.09 Those of you that are taking this course as a specialization course (fordypningsemne) do not have to do the semester project. You will get an oral exam that counts 100 % of your total grade. However, the semester project is part of the curriculum, so you are encouraged to do the project anyway.
08.09 The first part of the semester project has been posted.
03.09 Some information about the semester project has been posted below. The first part will be posted this week. The due date for the first part is noon, 27.09.
02.09 Tomorrow, the reference group and I will meet and discuss the course. If there is anything in particular you want us to discuss, or if you have any viewpoints you want to share, please contact the reference group.
