10.12.24 A third reference group meeting will take place some time after the exam. Please give feed back to Trygve or Axel.
10.12.24 Todays exam and solution proposal.
21.11.24 I am not in the office today, pose questions on the forum, or come by the office tomorrow.
29.10.24 We have created a forum for posing questions and comments regarding the project. You will find the course if you scroll down a little. Here are instructions if you have not used this type of forum previously.
28.10.24 Note that there are AI-regulations at NTNU for use of it in projects. Here is the form you all should fill out and include with your report.
24.10.24 The project is now published.
22.10.24 Next Tuesday, October 29, I will have a meeting with the reference group. Last time you were all quiet, and I guess that I should be happy for that(?) However, can you please write your impression of the style (no computers amongst others) of the course, how you found the exercises and the lectures, and of course any constructive suggestions for the future of the course. I know you are being constantly asked for customer feedbacks from all over, but at least some short feedback would be great. Please mail some words to any of the members of the reference group Trygve Tegnander and Axel Friberg Hagen.
22.10.24 The last couple of years we have not taken time for much fluid dynamics. This year we did. Here is a note from 2020 covering this topic and also a sketch of the proof of Reynold's transport theorem in 3D. You are not supposed to remember all the nitty-gritty details of this for the coming exam, just relate to the ideas. If there are questions from this part of the course in the exam you will get hints.
21.10.24 The project will be published October 25, and presented by Xavier Raynaud who is responsible for the project on October 28, in R9 at 0815. See Project on the left hand menu.
12.09.24 On Monday, Sept. 16, the lecture will take place in R7.
03.09.24 The first reference group meeting is Tuesday Sept.10. Send Axel or Trygve a mail if you have any suggestions or comments about the lectures, exercises, or other things.
30.08.24 Trygve Tegnander and Axel Friberg Hagen are the members of the reference group. There will be three meetings with the reference group during the semester. Send any comments or suggestions to the any member of the group, or just simply contact me here.
20.08.24 The following compendium contains most of the material for the course. It also contains large parts that is not included in the curriculum. You will find the written notes that does cover the curriculum (approximately) under the "Lecture Plan" in the left hand menu.
20.08.24 Todays slides.
20.08.24 Next Monday a student organization called ReLU NTNU is giving a presentation in the pause. Here is the heads up they sent me:

Are you interested in AI and ML? Apply to ReLU NTNU here: https://forms.gle/j3YGHS7j6CGeXL8C7. You don’t need any experience with AI to apply; we offer training for those who want it! And for those of you still unsure about your qualifications: “If we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives” – Lemony Snicket. We are also looking for members who want to work with marketing and organizational tasks. ReLU NTNU is a student organization that works with AI and ML to solve business problems for companies. This is a fantastic way to see how businesses work with AI and to solve real and challenging problems. We have projects that use everything from time series analysis to language models to computer vision. This semester, we have partnered with Schibsted, Rystad Energy, Grieg Seafood, Solution Seeker, and Kjeldsberg Eiendomsforvaltning.

13.08.24 Welcome to Mathematical modelling. The first lecture on Monday, August 19. is cancelled. See you on Tuesday, August 20, at 0815 in G1.
