Exercises are not mandatory but recommended.

When: One every two Thursdays, from 11:15 to 13.

The textbook used in the course is J. Nocedal and S. Wright: Numerical Optimization, 2nd Edition. Springer, 2006, (Errata).
This book is available in electronic form at Springerlink.

We will also use lecture notes written by previous lecturers of the course.

The final grade will consist of the result from the exam and a project:

- Examination that counts for 70% of the final grade in the subject
- Project work that counts for 30% of the final grade in the subject

The continuation exam may be oral.
