I'm the head of the Division for Ocean and Ice at the Research and Development Department, Norwegian Meteorological Institute. We have the responsibility for the operational forecast models for ocean circulation, sea ice and surface waves. With our colleagues in Bergen, we provide modeling services in support of e.g. search-and-rescue and oil spill drift modeling. My primary research interests are (i) air-sea interaction processes with waves and (ii) ocean data assimilation.
