Installing a printer

This page describes how to install printers on your Mac.

Step 1: Open System Preferences

Step 2: Go to Printers & Scanners

Step 3: Click the plus sign icon

Step 4: Fill out the form

  • Click Advanced [1]. If the Advanced button is missing, you need to perform the 3 following steps to add it:
    1. Right click (or control-click) on the tool bar
    2. Choose Customize Toolbar…
    3. Drag the Advanced tab into the toolbar
  • Change Type to Windows printer via spoolss [2]
  • Change URL to smb:// [3]
  • Set the name to ntnuprint-xerox [4]
  • Click Choose a Driver… [5] and click Select Software…

Step 5: Select printer model

  • Search for 9303 using the search box
  • Select Xerox ColorCube 9303 by clicking on it
  • Click the OK button, then the Add button.

Step 6: Configure printer

  • Click Configure

Step 7: Select printer options

  • Use the following printer options:
    • Paper Trays: 5 Trays (High Capacity Feeder)
    • Finisher: High Volume Finisher With Booklet Maker
    • Hole Punch Module: Installed
    • Inserter Module: Installed
    • Tri-Fold Module: Installed
  • Click OK

Step 8: Enter your username and password

  • Try to print something
  • In the box asking for username and password, select Connect as: Registered User
  • Enter the name WIN-NTNU-NO\username (replace username with your NTNU user name).
    Please double-check that you got this step right. Using your user name alone, without WIN-NTNU-NO\ in front, will not work!
  • Type your NTNU password in the Password field .
  • Tick the Remember this password in my keychain box.
  • Click OK.
