Workshop: Complex and Harmonic Analysis, Differential Equations, Numerical Methods

June 2nd to 5th, 2015, Trondheim, Norway

The main focus of the workshop is discrete models in analysis and differential equations. This field of research is expanding rapidly and it has many applications, most notably in signal processing, control theory and physics. The workshop aims to bring together researchers with various backgrounds working on discrete models, and to stimulate interactions and collaboration between participants from different research areas.  The meeting will include survey lectures by invited speakers, with generous time for discussions. We hope to attract young researchers to the area and to emphasize the interaction between applications and theory.

The workshop is the final event of the project "Discrete Models in Mathematical Analysis", by the Norwegian Research Council. The project members are the Analysis Group and the Group of Differential Equation and Numerical Analysis at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, NTNU. The topics of the workshop include time-frequency analysis, discrete operators in harmonic analysis and function theory, discrete models for differential operators and potential theory and numerical schemes.

The workshop is supported by the Norwegian Research Council and also by the Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, NTNU.
