Meeting (03.02.2015): ==== Curriculum: * Interesting so far and seems also relevant for future work. General comments: * Very good course * Block structure is a very good concept for this course. * It is nice to hear first the theory and then apply it yourself. * Further, it is good to focus on the exercises for two weeks. Lectures: * Slides are very informative and well prepared. * It is good that slides are available at the beginning of the lecture. * Maybe use the document camera instead of the blackboard. Exercises: * The match between the exercises and the lecture is very good. * The exercises in the computer lab work fine. * The teaching assistant gives very good support and assistants well with questions. * Good that deadline is not so close. * Idea of oral presentations is good. ==== 2. Meeting (20.03.2015): ==== Lectures: * Slides are good and students appreciate it to get them printed out at the beginning of the lecture. * Lectures are good. Pace is appropriate. Exercises: * 2nd exercise is much harder than first one. * In particular the INLA part is hard and more help might be needed there. * It would be good to get the third exercise before Easter. * Sometimes there are communication problems, such as misunderstandings, when asking questions. * More help during the exercises would be appreciated. ==== 3. Meeting (17.04.2015): ==== General: * No comments for improvement. Lectures: * No changes compared to last feedback. * No comments from other students * EM algorithm not so well covered in book Exercises: * Good exercises that relate well with lectures * Corrections of exercises ok * Good help during lab exercises * Oral presentations are regarded as very helpful
